IIS Seminar: Developing Prescriptive Process Mining Systems
Hinweis
The seminar is only open to IIS students!
Business processes form the backbone of value creation in companies, with most modern processes being IT-supported and leaving digital traces. Process mining leverages these data traces to analyze and improve processes, measuring performance and identifying inefficiencies. However, despite these insights, companies often struggle to implement real-world process improvements effectively.
This seminar focuses on prescriptive process mining, which goes beyond analysis by providing real-time recommendations for the next steps in a running business process. The goal is to support employees during process execution, making workflows more efficient and decision-making more informed.
Students will engage in the design and development of prescriptive process mining systems, working on challenges such as integration of domain knowledge in process analysis, algorithm development, types of recommendations, and user interface design. Through hands-on experience, participants will gain insights into an emerging field at the intersection of business process management, artificial intelligence, and IT systems.
